The VOCALOID Collection ~2026 Winter~: Success and Future Plans

Dwango Inc., headquartered in Chuo City, Tokyo, staged an impressive celebration of Vocaloid culture with the event "The VOCALOID Collection ~2026 Winter~." This year marked the 11th iteration of this festival, held over five days from February 19 to 23, 2026, and it concluded with remarkable statistics that highlight the vibrant engagement of the community.

The event garnered attention with approximately 250,000 total online attendees and saw a staggering 6,400 submissions of Vocaloid-related works. The numbers were so promising that they are expected to possibly increase once final tallies are completed. To continue building on this momentum, Dwango has also announced plans for a summer edition of the event, scheduled for August 2026.

The festival featured a myriad of activities that kept attendees captivated, including the latest Vocaloid video rankings, DJ performances by well-known Vocaloid producers, various remix contests, and collaborative projects linking to other forms of media such as films. Notably, the event included a partnership with the film "Cho Kaguya Hime!," which inspired the "Cho Kaguya Hime! Remix Submission Festival" that received numerous enthusiastic entries.

Key Highlights of the Event

Among the standout features was the highly competitive "Vocaloid Collection Ranking." In this segment, popular Vocaloid producers and creators showcased their artistic prowess by simultaneously creating and submitting videos. Three main categories were presented for competition: "TOP 100," "Rookie," and "Remix."
The champions in these categories were:
  • - TOP 100: 'De Los Santos / Kagamine Teto SV' by Yamamoto
  • - Rookie: 'One Billion Years in Love - Tsuina-chan' by Inoutsuhasa Shoujo Shuumatsukyou P
  • - Remix: 'Don't Look at Sanfuden with Lust Reggae' by TC's WORKS.

Moreover, the exhibition segment of the event, dubbed the "Vocaloid Collection Exhibition," received over 900 additional submissions, allowing creators to freely share and view their works without competitive pressure. This area fostered an environment of creativity and community interaction, enhancing the overall excitement of the festival. With many songs charting in the rankings, several media partners have plans for airing these hits and featuring guest appearances by the creators in their programs.

Future Prospects

Following the success of the winter event, there is palpable excitement for the upcoming summer edition. With the foundation built upon this year's engagement and the budding ideas floating in the community, Dwango aims to further solidify the Vocaloid culture and its digital music scene.
