Open Call for Photography Exhibition at Canon Gallery
Canon Marketing Japan, led by President Masachika Adachi, has announced an open call for photography exhibitions at the Canon Gallery in Ginza and Osaka starting from
August 1, 2025. This initiative reflects Canon's commitment to supporting photography culture and nurturing artistic expression among both professional and amateur photographers.
Exhibition Schedule and Details
The photography exhibitions selected through the open call will be held sequentially from
January to June 2026. Each exhibition is generally scheduled for a duration of
two weeks. This event is a part of Canon's ongoing effort to promote photographic art and provide a platform for photographers to showcase their works.
Application Guidelines
Eligibility
- - Both professionals and amateurs can apply, but applicants must be residents of Japan or have a domestic contact.
Application Period
- - The submission window is from August 1 to August 31, 2025 (applications postmarked by August 31 will be accepted).
How to Apply
- - Interested applicants must visit the Canon Gallery website here to understand the submission requirements and prepare their application materials. Submissions should be sent to the Canon Gallery in Ginza.
Target Museums
- - The call is open for exhibitions at Canon Gallery Ginza and Canon Gallery Osaka. Note that submissions for Canon Gallery S and Canon Open Gallery 1 & 2 located in Minato, Tokyo, are not accepted.
Submission Requirements
- - Only unpublished works will be accepted for the exhibition.
- - If you wish to display your work through silver halide prints, the photographs must be taken with a Canon camera. For digital prints, photographs must be produced using a Canon printer; however, the camera brand is not restricted in this case.
- - Applicants should submit a sample of 30 to 50 pieces, which can be presented either in A4 or six-cut size, placed in an A4-sized book folder, sent to the Canon Gallery in Ginza.
- - Upon selection, the displayed works will generally be chosen from the submitted samples.
- - Please note that images generated using AI cannot be submitted.
- - Results will be communicated by October 2025.
