Japan Jewelry Fair 2025 Celebrates Engagement Ring Slogan Awards

Japan Jewelry Fair 2025 Celebrates Engagement Ring Slogan Awards

On August 29, 2025, the Japan Jewelry Association (JJA), located in Taito, Tokyo, hosted a memorable awards ceremony at Tokyo Big Sight during the Japan Jewelry Fair 2025. The event aimed to recognize the best slogans for diamond engagement rings.

The chosen slogan, "It's okay to take shape, after all, it's love," was crafted by Yusuke Ootori. The selection process was quite rigorous, involving submissions from the public from January 15 to April 30, 2025, during which 2,983 entries were received. A selection committee was formed including members from the JJA Bridal Diamond Subcommittee, 20 male and female representatives from Generation Z, and a special judge, Mika Ann, who is a JJA Jewelry Ambassador.

This collective effort ensured that the final choice, Ootori's slogan, would resonate deeply with the public, capturing the essence of love and engagement in a powerful way.

To enhance the impact of the slogan, the association also crafted a symbolic icon that accompanies it, which represents the profound meaning and imagery of the message.

Ootori's Insights

Ootori shared his journey leading up to the award in a recent interview, highlighting how he learned about the contest through the Japan Jewelry Association's Instagram account. As he and his wife were set to celebrate their first wedding anniversary, he felt personally connected to the theme and began brainstorming ideas with her. Together, they submitted their favorite slogan.

When asked about the deeper meaning behind his chosen slogan, Ootori explained, "Love is often formless, yet the engagement ring provides a tangible expression of that love. Many men struggle to express their feelings with words or physical gestures, which is why the diamond engagement ring serves as a powerful symbol of an eternal commitment. I wanted to inspire those who hesitate in proposing to embrace the idea, 'It's okay to take shape, after all, it's love.'"

In expressing his gratitude upon winning, Ootori remarked, "It's an honor to have my heartfelt words that came from such a personal experience selected for this recognition. I am thrilled to see my words being utilized in promoting diamond engagement rings. Additionally, receiving a wonderful assortment of jewelry as a prize is a delightful surprise, as it has become a perfect gift for my wife on our first anniversary. Thank you very much for this experience!"
