Supporters Appoints Arata Tanaka as CTO

Supporters, a prominent company under CARTA HOLDINGS based in Minato City, has announced the appointment of Arata Tanaka as their new Chief Technology Officer (CTO) effective from July 1, 2025. The decision to establish this new executive position aims to enhance the company's commitment to supporting engineering students in their career endeavors.

Background of the CTO Appointment

With a vision of increasing the number of "cool adults," Supporters specializes in supporting engineering students through job placement services. The company has successfully aided approximately 1,000 companies in hiring new graduate engineers while supporting the career development of around 70,000 student engineers. Since 2020, they have initiated the "GEEK Project," a career development program focusing on overcoming Japan's pressing issue of engineering workforce shortages, regardless of students' year in school.

As part of its growth trajectory, the number of student members and participating companies has been steadily increasing. To provide improved services, the firm is leveraging generative AI for productivity enhancements and utilizing data to improve matching accuracy between students and companies, along with UI/UX improvements. The new CTO position has been created to strengthen these initiatives, with Arata Tanaka, who previously served as the head of the Tech Studio Division, stepping into this role. Under his leadership, Supporters aims to enhance its development organization and technical capabilities to accelerate business growth.

Arata Tanaka's Career Overview

Arata Tanaka began his career in 2014 after graduating from university, joining adingo, a subsidiary of VOYAGE GROUP (now CARTA HOLDINGS). He started as an application engineer for their advertising distribution platform. After gaining experience at Zucks, another subsidiary, he transitioned to Supporters in 2016. Tanaka played a pivotal role in designing and building the backend infrastructure for the company's website renewal in 2019. He became an engineering manager in 2020 and has maintained that position until his recent promotion to CTO.

"Since joining in 2014, I have consistently honed my skills as an engineer and contributed at the forefront of our services," Tanaka expressed. "Having moved to Supporters in 2016, I deeply understood the nature of our services aimed at engineers and utilized my technical skills and expertise to enhance operational improvements and support the backend infrastructure development. Leading a team as an engineering manager and working collectively on technical challenges to elevate service value has been a great source of joy for me."

Tanaka is determined to leverage his technical and management expertise to propel the overall business growth of Supporters as an executive officer. "I aim to contribute to the realization of our vision to increase ‘cool adults’ by working closely with the entire company."
