Let's Go for Breast Cancer Screening
Every October marks "Breast Cancer Awareness Month." In Japan, one in nine women is affected by breast cancer, which ranks high among leading causes of cancer-related deaths among women. However, with early detection and timely treatment, the survival rate after ten years exceeds 90%. Therefore, it's essential to foster a lifestyle of breast awareness and undergo regular screenings starting at age 40 every two years.
To coincide with Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Tokyo will launch the "Pink Ribbon in Tokyo 2025" campaign. This initiative aims to promote breast cancer awareness and screenings through partnerships with municipalities, companies, and organizations across the city.
