What is Nakatsugawa Chestnut Confectionery?

The Nakatsugawa chestnut confectionery, originating from Nakatsugawa city in Gifu Prefecture, has a production and sales period that spans from the arrival of new domestic chestnuts until the vernal equinox. During this time, visitors from all over Japan flock to Nakatsugawa to taste these delicacies.

The unique flavors of Nakatsugawa chestnuts are the result of regional variations in sweetness and texture, which can change based on factors like the quality of the newest harvest. This year, attendees can participate in a rare opportunity to taste a variety of Nakatsugawa chestnut treats in the Kanto region.
