Soliton Systems Enhances FileZen S with Personal Data Detection
In an effort to bolster data privacy and security, Soliton Systems has announced the upcoming launch of a new feature in their FileZen S product that will automatically detect personal information during file transfers in isolated network environments. Set to be available from June 29, 2026, this feature will greatly assist organizations that handle sensitive personal data, like municipalities, financial institutions, and healthcare providers.
FileZen S is designed for secure file transfers between separated networks, ensuring that sensitive information, such as residential data, customer records, and application information, is handled meticulously to prevent data leaks. This latest addition will allow users to check for critical personal information—including My Number, phone numbers, email addresses, home addresses, and credit card numbers—upon file upload, effectively minimizing the risk of accidental information exposure.
Key Features of the Personal Data Detection Functionality
1.
Automatic Checks for Personal Information
Upon file upload, FileZen S will automatically scan for critical personal data. This proactive measure allows organizations to mitigate potential risks before files are transferred.
2.
Individual File Detection Results
Should personal information be detected, notifications will appear on-screen for each relevant file. Additionally, detected strings can be downloaded as a text file for further verification.
3.
Transfer Controls Upon Detection
When personal information is identified, users have the choice to either halt the transfer or submit an approval request. Approval will be contingent upon oversight from an authorized reviewer, who will then decide the appropriateness of the transfer.
4.
Customizable Settings and Logging
Organizations can tailor the system to fit their operational needs, including defining transfer directions and specifying actions tied to detection outcomes. Comprehensive logging of detection results, approval statuses, and transfer histories ensures accountability and traceability.
Supported File Formats
The new detection feature supports major file formats integral to business operations, including Microsoft Office files, PDFs, text documents, CSV files, and Ichitaro documents.
