Sectra Partners with German Health Network to Streamline Radiology Operations and Combat Burnout

Sectra Collaborates with Xcare Group to Revolutionize Radiology

In a significant move to improve diagnostic processes and tackle the issue of burnout among radiologists, the international medical imaging IT and cybersecurity firm, Sectra (STO: SECT B), has announced its partnership with the Xcare Group, a prominent health network in Germany. This collaboration aims to implement Sectra's radiology module within Xcare's enterprise imaging solution, strengthening the integration of radiological services across multiple sites.

Enhancing Diagnostic Efficiency

The implementation of Sectra’s radiology module will span all twelve sites operated by Xcare Group, which is located in the Saarland and Trier/Wittlich regions of Germany. This innovative solution allows radiologists to access an integrated platform with all the necessary tools at their fingertips, ensuring a seamless workflow when reviewing patient cases. The results of this deployment are expected to enhance productivity; a crucial factor as healthcare providers face escalating imaging volumes.

Dr. Florian Jungmann, Managing Partner at Xcare Group, expressed his confidence in Sectra’s solution, stating, "To ensure high-quality care for our patients, it is essential that we equip our radiologists and radiation therapists with solutions optimized for efficient and interdisciplinary workflows. With Sectra's technology, we will utilize a unified platform for radiology and radiation therapy, enhancing collaboration and productivity across our sites."

Tackling Radiologist Burnout

Radiologist burnout is one of the pressing challenges in the medical field today, exacerbated by increasing workloads and the complexities of modern healthcare. The Sectra solution aims to alleviate this issue by streamlining radiology workflows and reducing unnecessary complexities in the processes. Tim Klomfass, Senior Sales Manager of Sectra DACH, remarked, "Xcare is taking important steps to address one of the most pressing challenges in radiology today—burnout among radiologists. By simplifying workflows, they are creating the conditions for more sustainable diagnostic work, which ultimately leads to better patient care."

Scalability and Future Outlook

An important aspect of the Sectra solution is its scalability and modular design, which allows healthcare facilities to adapt as their imaging needs evolve. With a Vendor Neutral Archive (VNA) at its core, Sectra’s enterprise imaging solution is designed to grow with the healthcare system, accommodating various specialties over time. This flexibility is key not only for current operational needs but also for future expansions and technological advancements.

As the Xcare Group conducts approximately 200,000 radiology exams annually, enhancing their operations with Sectra’s advanced imaging system is expected to lead to significant improvements in clinical workflows and overall patient care.
