Kyndryl Welcomes New Executive Leadership
Kyndryl, a prominent name in the realm of enterprise technology services, recently made significant additions to its leadership team. Effective July 20, 2026, Ellen Johnson will take on the role of Chief Financial Officer, while Andrew Bonzani has already stepped into his position as General Counsel and Secretary. These strategic moves come after a robust search for top-tier candidates who exhibit not only proven operational capabilities but also a successful track record in managing public corporations.
Martin Schroeter, Kyndryl's Chairman and CEO, expressed confidence in the new appointments, remarking, "Ellen and Andrew are experienced leaders in driving financial discipline, operational excellence and strong governance at global, public companies." Their extensive backgrounds are expected to bring valuable insights and leadership that align with Kyndryl's ambitious growth strategy.
Background of Ellen Johnson
Joining Kyndryl just days away from her formal start, Ellen Johnson is moving from the Interpublic Group (IPG), where she served as Executive Vice President and CFO from 2020 to 2025. Johnson's career spans several years at IPG, beginning in 2000, during which she held various senior finance leadership roles including CFO of IPG Mediabrands and Treasurer. As an active member of the Board of Directors for Nexstar Media Group and having recently contributed as an advisor at the EY Center for Executive Leadership, Johnson’s leadership experience is comprehensive. She holds an MBA in finance from New York University’s Stern School of Business and a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from the State University of New York at Albany.
As Kyndryl prepares for its first-quarter 2027 earnings report, Johnson will undertake her duties as CFO starting August 6, 2026. Harsh Chugh, the Interim CFO, will facilitate a smooth transition in the leadership, remaining with the company post-transition.
Introduction of Andrew Bonzani
On the other hand, Andrew Bonzani begins his tenure at Kyndryl immediately, bringing an impressive background from his tenure at IPG. There, he served as Senior Vice President, General Counsel, and Secretary since 2012, eventually rising to the position of Executive Vice President and General Counsel from 2021 to 2025. Prior to his time at IPG, Bonzani dedicated 18 years to IBM, working in their legal department and culminating in the role of Vice President, Assistant General Counsel, and Secretary. He earned his JD from St. John's University School of Law and has a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from Binghamton University.
As Bonzani steps into his new role, he will assume responsibilities immediately, succeeding Mark Ringes, who previously served as Interim General Counsel and Secretary. Ringes will now return to his role as Deputy General Counsel.
