Hyperscale Data Sets Ambitious $750 Million Threshold for AI Data Center Sale in Michigan

Hyperscale Data's Bold Valuation Strategy for AI Data Center

Hyperscale Data, Inc., an artificial intelligence (AI) data center operator anchored by Bitcoin, has made waves in the tech industry by establishing a minimum sale threshold of $750 million for its Michigan AI data center campus. Management at Hyperscale Data believes the value could potentially rise to $1.25 billion, reflecting the significance of this facility in the rapidly growing AI infrastructure sector.

Management's Insight

Milton “Todd” Ault III, the Executive Chairman of the company, expressed in a recent statement that the current market value of Hyperscale Data does not truly reflect the intrinsic worth of their Michigan Campus. He emphasized, “The value of the campus, opportunity associated with our long-term customer relationships, and its strategic importance are not sufficently represented in our current market valuation.” This sentiment resonates with investors who have observed similar discrepancies in asset valuations historically.

The assertion comes amidst ongoing assessments of the best strategic movements for the company, with management exploring options such as the outright sale of the Michigan Campus, an Initial Public Offering (IPO) of Sentinum, a wholly owned subsidiary, or a continuation of operational development and ownership of the facility.

Contractual and Expansion Potential

Recently, Hyperscale Data announced its master services agreement (MSA) with a California-based neocloud provider. This agreement outlines the deployment of an initial 20 megawatts (MW) of critical AI compute capacity. The initial term is set for 10 years with provisions for two five-year extension options that can be exercised by the customer. Should both extensions be activated, the revenue generated from this capacity is anticipated to exceed $1.2 billion over the contract's lifetime.

Moreover, the MSA also includes an option for an additional 32 MW of AI compute capacity, with projections indicating that the total revenue from deploying up to 52 MW could exceed $3 billion. Hyperscale Data believes their Michigan Campus can eventually support over 300 MW, although the realization of this capacity is dependent on several factors including regulatory approvals and customer demand.

Evaluating Investor Interests

William B. Horne, Chief Executive Officer, believes that comparable publicly traded companies provide valuable context for understanding the valuation of their Michigan facility. Both Ault and Horne aim to clarify the perceived value discrepancy between Hyperscale Data and public market comparables, arguing for a reassessment of their company's worth.

Management's current valuation considerations reflect not only the executed contracts and infrastructure but also the opportunities presented by customer relationships and market dynamics in AI technology. However, they caution that no definitive decisions have been made, and any potential transaction is contingent upon thorough evaluations by the Board of Directors.

Currently, the established $750 million threshold is seen as a floor, not a ceiling, as future successful deployments and customer commitments could drive this valuation higher. **
