Jack Henry Celebrates 50 Years of Community Support with Donations and Volunteer Initiatives

Celebrating Milestones: Jack Henry’s 50 Years of Community Impact

As Jack Henry® (Nasdaq: JKHY) rounds up half a century of its journey, the company is marking its 50th anniversary with a significant charitable focus and community engagement. This yearlong celebration highlights Jack Henry's commitment to making a positive impact while empowering communities across the United States.

The company has made a remarkable donation of $107,450 to Junior Achievement USA (JA)—an organization dedicated to fostering financial literacy and entrepreneurship amongst youth. This generous contribution was formally announced by Jack Henry's President and CEO, Greg Adelson, during the Jack Henry Connect client conference in Kansas City on October 19.

The decision to support Junior Achievement came through an engagement initiative where Jack Henry associates participated in a company-wide vote to select their charity of choice for the anniversary donation. With an impressive 76% in favor, the associates clearly demonstrated their commitment to Junior Achievement's mission to prepare young people for successful futures.

A Focus on Youth Empowerment

Over the past fifty years, Jack Henry has emphasized its dedication to educational opportunities that unlock financial freedom and community well-being. By supporting Junior Achievement, the company continues to strengthen its core principle of fostering financial health and opening doors to opportunity. The funds directed to JA will support several programs:
  • - $35,000 for JA Future Bound, designed to cultivate career readiness, entrepreneurial spirit, and financial literacy skills among students through various competitions.
  • - $10,000 allocated for the general operations of Junior Achievement USA, ensuring the organization’s substantial and ongoing impact.
  • - The remaining funds will be distributed among seven local JA chapters where Jack Henry has operations, enhancing support in those communities.

Community Engagement Through Volunteerism

In addition to its financial contributions, Jack Henry launched a 50 Days of Service campaign, where employees actively engaged in volunteer initiatives across the nation from August 3 through October 9. Impressively, this campaign exceeded expectations, with associates contributing over 6,100 volunteer hours—a goal which was set at 5,000 hours.

Volunteers took part in food bank assistance, environmental protection efforts, educational outreach, and programs directed towards youth. Such hands-on engagement not only amplified the company’s charitable giving but also enriched the local communities by addressing pressing social issues.

A Future Focused on Financial Empowerment

During the announcement, Greg Adelson stated, “Celebrating 50 years in business is ultimately about celebrating the people and communities that have made our success possible.” This reflects the company’s foundational belief that every benefaction creates ripples in society, nurturing a future imbued with knowledge and potential for young individuals.

Tim Greinert, President of Junior Achievement USA, expressed gratitude saying, “We are incredibly thankful to Jack Henry and its associates for their investment in JA learning experiences.” This collaboration between Jack Henry and Junior Achievement is indicative of a commitment to enhancing students’ economic mobility and ensuring that they are equipped to navigate the complexities of the financial world.

Looking Ahead

As Jack Henry continues its journey beyond this milestone year, its legacy becomes deeply interwoven with community upliftment and educational investment. The overarching desire to create an accessible, opportunity-driven future for young minds endures, aligning with Jack Henry's mission to empower clients and communities alike.
