BE OPEN Art Launches 2025 Regional Competition for Emerging Artists in Oceania
In a significant move for the art community, BE OPEN Art has announced the continuation of its regional competition aimed at nurturing emerging artists in Oceania for the year 2025. Set to unfold over the next few months, this initiative seeks to celebrate and elevate artists whose work best represents their regional, cultural, and ethnic identities.
Continuing a Cherished Tradition
BE OPEN Art, an online gallery founded by humanitarian thinker Elena Baturina, serves as a platform for discovering and supporting emerging talent. This year, the competition will cover several countries in Oceania including Australia, East Timor, Fiji, Kiribati, Marshall Islands, Micronesia, Nauru, New Zealand, Palau, Papua New Guinea, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tonga, Tuvalu, and Vanuatu. The competition will last for three months, concluding with the announcement of the regional winner in early July.
Winners, chosen by an expert community at BE OPEN, will receive a prize of €500. Additionally, there will be a public vote to choose a winner, also involving recognition for a special favorite selected by the founder herself.
Monthly Artist Showcases
Each month during the competition, selected artworks from 20 emerging artists will be featured in BE OPEN Art's online gallery. The public will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite artist each month. At the end of the competition phase, one of the monthly winners will be declared the artist of the region based on the combined votes from the public and BE OPEN Art community members.
This competition runs in parallel with the ongoing activities of BE OPEN Art, which regularly inducts new artists into its gallery every month, facilitating an avenue for fresh talent to gain visibility within the art world.
Supporting Talent with Purpose
The primary aim of BE OPEN Art is to uplift emerging talents displaying social consciousness through their work, aiming to provide aesthetic solutions for contemporary societal issues. This project is more than just a competition; it strives to discover new influencers in the art scene and invites everyone to contribute to this vibrant initiative.
A Global Initiative
BE OPEN is a global movement focused on creativity and innovation, functioning as a think-tank designed to nurture today's ideas and individuals to forge solutions for the future. Supported by Elena Baturina, an international philanthropist and entrepreneur based in Austria, BE OPEN stands as a beacon for cultural and social initiatives, reinforcing the importance of art in understanding and addressing global challenges.
As the regional competition progresses, it promises to be an exciting opportunity for up-and-coming artists in Oceania, underscoring the rich artistic heritage of the region and encouraging new voices to be heard on a global stage. The coming months will undoubtedly shine a spotlight on the creative talents that define and inspire communities across Oceania, making it an event not to be missed.
