GAC Unveils the AION V in Finland, Expanding Its Electric Vehicle Market Footprint

GAC Expands European Electric Vehicle Presence with AION V Launch in Finland

On September 23, 2025, the GAC Group marked a significant milestone by officially launching its global strategic electric SUV, the AION V, in Finland. As the third European market to embrace GAC vehicles, this launch is a crucial part of the company's broader European market strategy known as the 'European Market Plan.' This entry into the Finnish market signifies the expansion of high-quality Chinese electric vehicles in the Nordic region.

The introduction of the AION V aligns with GAC's pan-European strategy, which gained momentum after signing a global partnership agreement with Inchcape during the 2024 Paris Motor Show. This alliance combines Inchcape's mature distribution and service network with GAC's advanced technology, providing Finnish and European customers the best of both worlds. Finland is the first market under this partnership, with plans for further expansion into other European countries in the near future.

Designed with Finnish sustainability, safety, and space priorities in mind, the AION V showcases impressive advantages in technology and user experience. It achieved a Euro NCAP safety rating of five stars in 2025, affirming its leadership in automotive safety. With a WLTP range of 510 kilometers and the capability for ultra-fast charging—allowing a charge from 10% to 80% in just 24 minutes—the AION V effectively alleviates common range anxiety for electric vehicle owners, especially as Finland enhances its charging infrastructure.

Moreover, the spacious interior, supported by a wheelbase of 2,775 mm and a trunk capacity of 427 liters, makes the AION V suitable for various lifestyles, from family travel to outdoor adventures. On the reliability front, the model offers an eight-year or 160,000-kilometer vehicle warranty and an eight-year or 200,000-kilometer battery warranty. This lengthy guarantee not only promised extended durability but also reduced operational costs for consumers. The launch emphasizes a 'high-quality offering at an affordable price,' making the AION V a compelling choice in the Nordic electric vehicle market.

Since unveiling the 'European Market Plan' at the Paris Motor Show, GAC has designated Europe as a strategic core market, quickly entering Poland, Portugal, and now Finland. By 2028, GAC aims to ensure comprehensive coverage throughout Europe, bolstered by ongoing efforts in channel development, service system enhancement, and industrial chain integration.

With additional models and an expanded service network in their future plans, GAC is poised to provide European users with a distinct and rewarding mobility experience, playing an essential role in reshaping the global automotive industry.
