Carl's Jr. and Hardee's Launch Stars for Heroes Campaign Supporting Military Families
Carl's Jr. and Hardee's Unite for Annual Stars for Heroes Campaign
From Memorial Day to August 2, Carl's Jr. and Hardee's are joining hands for their 15th Stars for Heroes fundraising initiative, aiming to support military families across the nation. Guests at participating restaurants can donate $1 or more at checkout, with all contributions directed to USA Cares and local charities chosen by franchisees.
The goal of the Stars for Heroes campaign is to provide crucial financial assistance to active-duty personnel, veterans, and their families who are in need. Over the past 14 years, this compassionate effort has successfully raised over $13 million, offering much-needed aid to countless military households. The brand president of Carl's Jr., Iwona Alter, expressed gratitude towards guests and franchisees for making this initiative possible, highlighting the impact that collective efforts have on the lives of those who have bravely served the country.
During these six weeks of focused support, each donation made at the cash register will contribute to USA Cares, which has established itself as a reliable nonprofit organization dedicated to helping post-9/11 veterans and their families. USA Cares not only provides emergency financial support but also equips service members with the necessary resources to build solid, independent lives. Impressively, USA Cares holds a remarkable 100% rating from Charity Navigator, a distinction very few organizations achieve.
In the previous year alone, USA Cares disbursed over $2.9 million in direct aid to more than 1,500 military families, helping nearly 2,000 children. Their recent initiative, Operation Follow Through, aims to extend support beyond immediate financial assistance, focusing on the long-term stability of veterans and their families. Approximately 79% of USA Cares clients reported feeling more optimistic about their future after receiving help, showcasing the tangible difference the organization is making.
Tony D'Amico, brand president of Hardee's, emphasized the campaign's role as a humble gesture of appreciation for the sacrifices made by veterans. He noted that the Stars for Heroes initiative unites team members, customers, and franchisees in a collective effort to lend a helping hand to both USA Cares and local nonprofits, ensuring that communities have the necessary resources in challenging times. This collaboration reflects the true spirit of community and support that CKE Restaurants aims to foster.
The continued partnership between CKE Restaurants and USA Cares highlights the positive outcomes that can emerge when businesses come together with a shared purpose. According to Matt Castor, the president and CEO of USA Cares, the generosity manifested through the Stars for Heroes campaign plays an essential role in addressing the challenges faced by veterans and military families.
With the annual Stars for Heroes campaign made possible by the Star Franchise Association and Independent Hardee's Franchise Association, this initiative goes beyond fundraising. It reinforces the importance of community engagement and support for those who have served our nation.
