Schneider Electric Launches Latest PowerChute™ Network Shutdown Software Version 5.2

Schneider Electric Releases PowerChute Network Shutdown Version 5.2

On September 2, 2025, Schneider Electric, a leader in digital transformation for energy management and automation, has officially released version 5.2 of its UPS management software, PowerChute™ Network Shutdown. Tailored for medium to large-scale environments, this software enhances the performance and management of Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS), focusing primarily on the stability of IT infrastructures in offices and data centers.

The PowerChute Network Shutdown software operates by facilitating communication between networks and UPS systems, allowing automatic shutdown of servers during power outages, thus ensuring smooth operations for businesses. The latest upgrade aims to improve management capabilities and operational efficiency in virtual environments.

Key Features of PowerChute Network Shutdown Version 5.2

With this new version, several significant features have been implemented:

1. Priority Setting for Virtual Machines: The software now includes a feature that allows users to set shutdown/startup priorities for virtual machines in Microsoft’s Hyper-V and Azure Stack HCI environments directly on the PowerChute interface.

2. Bulk Export of Support Logs: Troubleshooting is made easier with the option to easily generate and export multiple logs via the Help tab, streamlining the diagnostic process.

3. Enhanced Windows Event Viewer Output: An extension of a previously added functionality, the enhanced event log output allows for more detailed information. Various event levels and IDs are now outputted from fixed values to more recognizable identifiers that categorize events related to UPS and environmental factors.
