Krafty Pharmaceuticals Expands Logistics Network in Kyushu

Krafty Pharmaceuticals, a renowned provider of herbal and general medical products, has recently inaugurated its first logistics center in the Kyushu region, specifically in Ogori City, Fukuoka. This new distribution hub began operations on October 1st, marking a critical step in strengthening the supply chain for herbal medicines.

In recent years, the logistics of pharmaceuticals have faced considerable challenges, notably the "2024 issue," which highlights problems within transportation infrastructure and the increasing importance of business continuity planning (BCP) due to natural disasters. Until now, products designated for the Kyushu area, including Yamaguchi Prefecture, have been shipped from the Kansai Distribution Center located in Osaka. The establishment of this new Kyushu Distribution Center aims to tackle the logistical challenges associated with long-distance transportation from Kansai.

Objectives of the New Kyushu Distribution Center

1. Reducing Transportation Risks

The center will significantly shorten the delivery distances to retail locations within the targeted area. For instance, deliveries to retail points in Kagoshima Prefecture will now require only about 300 km compared to the previous 900 km. This change addresses issues related to long-haul driver shortages and other logistical difficulties.

2. Strengthening Logistics BCP

By expanding our logistic hubs, Krafty Pharmaceuticals is improving risk distribution in the event of large-scale natural disasters. This proactive approach ensures a stable supply chain that is resilient to unexpected disruptions.

3. Preparing for Future Logistics Volume Increases

With enhanced inventory storage space, the new logistics center will allow Krafty to be agile and responsive to fluctuations in logistics demands as they arise.

4. Improving Delivery Efficiency and Reducing CO2 Emissions

Collaborative logistics with other direct sales manufacturers will help improve transportation efficiency and contribute to lowering environmental impacts by reducing CO2 emissions in distribution processes.
