BANDAI Re:Design FAIR Vol.2: A Platform for Innovative Solutions
On September 30, 2026, Bandai Town will hold the second edition of the BANDAI Re:Design FAIR at SHIBUYA QWS in Tokyo. This pitch event aims to collaborate with private enterprises and address pressing social issues. As Bandai Town faces challenges due to a declining population, this event seeks companies interested in becoming "co-managers" to tackle local concerns together.
Event Overview
- - Event Name: BANDAI Re:Design FAIR Vol.2
- - Date: September 30, 2026 (Wednesday)
- - Time: 13:00 - 18:30 (Doors open at 12:00)

- - Features: Presentation pitches from participating companies, networking opportunities, and booths highlighting local initiatives like hometown tax donations and digital resident certificates.
The inaugural BANDAI Re:Design FAIR held in September 2025 saw participation from 248 individuals, including 122 attendees on-site. Notably, 76% of attendees confirmed it was their first time participating in a municipality-sponsored event, and an impressive 90% expressed high satisfaction with their experience.
In 2026, the fair is evolving from simply familiarizing attendees with Bandai Town to actively seeking serious partnerships. The aim is to convert local challenges into business opportunities and attract genuine collaborators.
Call for Ideas
The presentations at the event are open to various themes. However, Bandai Town is specifically looking for practical, rapidly implementable solutions suited for a small town with a population of around 3,000. Unlike the heavy and costly systems typically designed for larger cities, this event focuses on agile proposals that can quickly transition from concept to implementation.
Judging Criteria and Awards
Judging will be based on the suitability of ideas, feasibility, and originality, determined by both judges from the town’s administration and votes from general attendees. Award-winning companies will benefit from the following incentives:
- - Co-Creation Tickets: For the top two scoring companies, conversations will be facilitated by staff to kickstart the implementation of their proposals.
- - Audience Choice Award: The highest-scoring general audience entry will receive local product gifts, including 5 kg of rice.
Participant Eligibility
- - Target Participants: Any private enterprise (size does not matter), universities, and research organizations with legal status.
- - Entry Period: From July 20, 2026, to August 31, 2026.
- - Entry Fee: None
- - Number of Participants: Approximately seven companies (a screening process will occur if applications exceed this number).
- - Submission Process: Applications should be submitted through a dedicated entry form, and consultations will be available at SHIBUYA QWS on Thursdays and Fridays during the entry period.
