Altius Link Approved for Digital Support Initiative

Altius Link, a company based in Shibuya, Tokyo, has recently been approved as an implementing organization for the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications' fiscal 2024 supplementary budget under the 'Digital Utilization Support Promotion Project'. This initiative focuses on providing support for local communities through face-to-face engagement.

The primary goal of the 'Digital Utilization Support Promotion Project' is to alleviate the anxiety that elderly citizens and others experience when using digital technology. Through workshops that offer guidance and consultation regarding online government services via smartphones, the project aims to bridge the digital divide. The ultimate objective is to create a society where everyone can benefit from digitalization.

Previously, Altius Link has collaborated with multiple local governments to offer smartphone utilization courses, sharing their expertise in orchestrating these educational programs. Building on this experience, they will work alongside Shiraoi and Mashike towns in Hokkaido to conduct comprehensive smartphone classes, helping participants safely learn basic operations and explore useful services related to government, healthcare, and disaster prevention.

Basic Course Content

- Learn how to power on the device and navigate basic buttons
- Use the phone and camera features
- Install new applications
- Browse the internet
- Send and receive emails
- Navigate using map applications
- Utilize messaging apps
- Understand key points for safe smartphone usage
- Experience using online meeting applications

Advanced Course Content

- Utilize the My Number Portal effectively
- Apply for a My Number card using a smartphone
- Equip the smartphone with an electronic certificate
- Use the My Number card as a health insurance certificate
- Register public money receiving accounts
- File taxes online using e-Tax
- Participate in online medical consultations
- Use the nationwide emergency consultation app (Q-suke) to assess urgent health concerns
- Enjoy walking through the FUN+WALK application
- Review various disaster risks using the hazard map portal
- Simulate flood risks with the inundation navigation tool
- Access geographic information for local areas using the Geospatial Information Authority's app
- Build digital literacy to safely enjoy the internet
- Verify pension information through the Pension Information Network
- Experiment with generative AI tools
- Utilize the text display telephone service (Yometel)
