Voltage Energy Group to Establish Global Headquarters in Roxboro, NC
Voltage Energy Group, a prominent provider of solar and clean energy solutions in the United States, has recently announced the establishment of its global headquarters in Roxboro, North Carolina. This significant move includes the purchase and renovation of a 72-acre site that will host a production facility covering 22,861 square feet. The decision is part of the company's long-term strategy to expand its global operations while firmly rooted in its American origins.
Founded in 2015 and currently based in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, Voltage Energy specializes in Electrical-Balance-of-Systems (EBOS) solutions for solar projects. Once operational, the Roxboro facility will serve as the company's global headquarters.
Bob Slack, Chief Technology Officer at Voltage Energy, highlighted North Carolina's importance to the company, stating, "North Carolina has always been home to Voltage Energy. By expanding our production footprint and planning our future global headquarters here, we reinforce our commitment to our customers and partners while supporting the long-term growth of the clean energy sector."
Local government officials have welcomed this initiative, emphasizing its positive impact on the region. Ray Jeffers, a member of the North Carolina General Assembly, commented, "The purchase of this defunct manufacturing site by Voltage is a strong and encouraging signal for Person County and its residents. Revitalizing an existing site intelligently uses our local infrastructure and creates new jobs. Person County has a long industrial tradition—this investment is grounded in that history. I look forward to collaborating with stakeholders to ensure the project's success and sustainably boost our district's economy."
Kyle Puryear, Chairman of the Person County Board of Commissioners, expressed optimism about Voltage Energy's choice of location. "We are grateful that Voltage has selected our county for its operations, and we look forward to a long and successful partnership. Their establishment will create valuable jobs and enhance our tax base, contributing to our ongoing efforts to attract innovative industries and diversify our manufacturing sector to strengthen our local economy."
Cynthia Petty, Mayor of Roxboro, has also pledged to support Voltage Energy in every possible way. She stated, "I am eager to work closely with Voltage and welcome them warmly to our community."
Furthermore, Jody Blackwell, Dean of Technology and Manufacturing Programs at Piedmont Community College, expressed excitement about Voltage Energy's proximity to the college. "Voltage will bring new opportunities and fresh energy to our campus area. This new presence will strengthen our partnership with local industry and create additional opportunities for student training, employment, and the growth of our community. We are delighted that Voltage has chosen our region and are prepared to offer them our support as they embark on this new partnership."
