The Tokyo government has taken a significant step towards bridging the skills gap in the IT industry by launching the 'Tokyo Digital Academy Young Engineers Course' for the fiscal year 2023. Purpose of the Initiative

Target Participants
Eligible candidates for this program must meet the following criteria:
1. Be aged 35 or younger (born on or after April 2, 1988) and residing in Tokyo, with aspirations to work for IT companies (applications from outside Tokyo are accepted as well).
2. Possess practical experience in IT-related job roles.
3. Commit to the reskilling program, which spans approximately four months.
Recruitment Scale
The initiative aims to accommodate around 500 participants; however, selection will depend on a competitive evaluation process.
Program Breakdown
The structure of this initiative encompasses several key components:
1. Reskilling Program
Participants can choose from three high-demand areas:
Application Development,
Cloud Infrastructure, and
AI & Machine Learning. Additionally, participants may receive substantial financial assistance, covering up to 300,000 yen of the tuition fees upon program completion.
2. Concierge Support
Throughout this process, career-savvy concierges will provide consistent support, guiding participants from the reskilling program through to employment.
3. Employment Assistance
Workport will offer career coaching, interview preparation, advice, and organize employment matching events to help participants advance in their job searches or transitions.
