Scottie Resources Unveils New Gold Discovery with High-Grade Assays Near Historic Mine

In a significant advancement for gold exploration, Scottie Resources Corp. has announced impressive new drill results from its Scottie Gold Mine, situated in the Golden Triangle of British Columbia. The company discovered a new gold zone named the Wolf Zone, achieving a remarkable intercept of 6.85 grams per tonne (g/t) gold over 5.85 meters. The latest assays are noteworthy, revealing a particularly high-grade intercept from the N Zone, which showed 37.6 g/t gold over 4.1 meters. This discovery comes as the company continues to explore areas previously deemed inaccessible due to historical drilling orientations.

The specifics of these findings stem from drill hole SR24-353, which was strategically designed to test new areas south of the existing mine workings. Scottie Resources has outlined plans for exploring this newly identified Wolf Zone, which is thought to extend from high-grade veins sampled near the glacier's edge back in 2019. Notably, these veins yielded grades up to 4.04 g/t of gold and 90 g/t of silver, illustrating the area's potential.

Scottie’s CEO Brad Rourke commented on the encouraging results: "We are very pleased with the intersection of the new Wolf Zone as it opens up a new high-grade drill target in close proximity to the Scottie Gold Mine. This development will enhance our resource estimates significantly."

In addition to the Wolf Zone, the results from the N Zone have been promising. Historically, while the M Zone accounted for more than 90% of past production, the N Zone has shown significant expansion potential over its depth, and thus careful exploration will continue. Recent drilling at the N Zone has already yielded impressive results, including drill hole SR24-330 which reported an interception of 8.30 g/t over 9.70 meters, and SR24-334 offering 6.55 g/t over 5.5 meters.

The Scottie Gold Mine Project itself is rich in mineralization, with variations of steeply dipping shear veins trending east-west to northwest. These veins are primarily composed of pyrrhotite, along with pyrite, quartz, and calcite, embedded within andesitic volcanic rocks that form part of the Hazelton Unuk River Formation. The project includes over 13 distinct gold-bearing vein zones, although historical production mainly took place from the M Zone.

Scottie Resources has dedicated the past six years to rigorous exploration at the Scottie Gold Mine, uncovering four new high-grade targets, including the Blueberry Contact Zone and D-Zone, while enhancing existing sites. The results reflect a correlation between surface outcroppings and high-grade drill confirmations, suggesting a mineralizing event that tightly connects various deposits in the region.

The Scottie Gold Mine has a rich history, with production occurring from 1981 to 1985, yielding over 95,000 gold ounces. Its closure was primarily due to falling gold prices coupled with soaring interest rates. However, the ongoing efforts by Scottie Resources aim not only to expand current facilities but also to leverage the mine’s legacy for potential future developments. With the imminent follow-up drilling planned in 2025 to further investigate the Wolf Zone, Scottie Resources is poised for a vigorous campaign to redefine the historical mining narrative in the area. As conditions in the gold market improve, the extraordinary potential for resource expansion at the Scottie Gold Mine signal a promising future for the company.

The samples taken during the 2024 drilling season were meticulously analyzed at SGS Minerals located in Burnaby, BC. Quality assurance measures were thoroughly enforced throughout the sampling and submission process, ensuring the integrity of results reported.

In summary, Scottie Resources is not just witnessing a resurgence in exploration but is strategically positioning itself to realize the full potential of the Scottie Gold Mine and surrounding zones. This latest announcement marks a pivotal moment for the company and the ongoing developments in the thriving Canadian gold mining landscape.
