In a noteworthy transaction, Perdido Hotel Partners, LLC, an affiliate of Aurora Hospitality Partners, has successfully acquired the revered Perdido Beach Resort located on Alabama's picturesque Gulf Coast. This strategic move, announced on December 10, 2025, not only heralds a new chapter for the resort but also signifies a commitment to preserving a beloved destination for families and visitors alike.

The acquisition is spearheaded by a dedicated group of local leaders including Ms. Terry, renowned athletic figure Coach Nick Saban, and successful business entrepreneur Joe Agresti. This coalition, along with other investors, is deeply invested in the cultural and economic vitality of Alabama, ensuring that the resort continues to thrive as a key player in the state's tourism landscape.

For almost 40 years, Perdido Beach Resort has been an essential part of Alabama's coastal charm, drawing families from across the Southeast for its breathtaking beachfront views and extensive amenities. The new ownership aims to not only safeguard the legacy of this iconic resort but also to enhance the overall guest experience in ways that resonate with the unique spirit of the Alabama Gulf Coast.

Blair Plott, Co-Founder of Aurora Hospitality Partners, expressed the significance of this acquisition, stating, “We could not be more honored to steward a place that means so much to so many families across our state. Our focus is to build on its legacy and elevate the guest experience in a way that reflects the very best of Alabama.”

Perdido Beach Resort features 338 guest rooms, over 43,000 square feet of versatile event space, and four distinct dining venues, cementing its status as a premier destination for both leisure and corporate travelers. The property will be undergoing some changes under the new management while striving to preserve its historical charm and appeal. In line with its customary practices, the resort will be temporarily closed during December but plans to reopen under the new ownership on December 30, 2025.

Founded in 1987 by Alabama businessman Jim Meadlock, Perdido Beach Resort has been synonymous with family vacations and special events. The property has attracted countless visitors over the years, forming lasting memories in its seaside setting. With Aurora Hospitality Partners at the helm, there is a strong anticipation for what lies ahead as they lead the operations of the resort.

As a key player in the Alabama hospitality scene, Aurora Hospitality Partners not only manages properties under esteemed brands like Marriott and Hilton but has also garnered accolades including the “Marriott Tribute Portfolio Hotel of the Year” award in 2024 for its flagship property, The Alamite in Tuscaloosa.

The commitment from the new ownership group to retain the essence of Perdido Beach Resort, while fostering an environment that champions growth and innovation, reflects a purposeful dedication to community engagement and development.
