Prior to his role at Green Street, Laughlin spearheaded the US Institutional Equities division, showcasing his extensive knowledge of equity research and market analysis.

His career also includes stints as an Equity Research Analyst at ISI Group, where he specialized in residential storage Real Estate Investment Trusts (REITs), and as a REIT Sector Specialist at Merrill Lynch.
