25th Annual Step Forward to Cure TSC!

From April 11 until June 6, 2026, the TSC Alliance will host its 25th Annual Step Forward to Cure TSC, an event series dedicated to raising awareness and funds for tuberous sclerosis complex (TSC) research. This year, Nobelpharma America proudly returns as the title sponsor.

Participate from Anywhere

Participants have the option to join virtually from wherever they are in the world or to attend at 14 physical locations across the U.S. This initiative aims to channel proceeds towards the TSC Alliance's efforts in research, seeking new treatment avenues for TSC, as well as supporting various programs that benefit affected individuals and their families.

Understanding Tuberous Sclerosis Complex (TSC)

TSC is a rare genetic disorder that can cause tumors to develop in several organs, severely affecting their functionality, especially the brain, heart, kidneys, skin, eyes, and lungs. Due to the unpredictable nature of TSC, experiences can differ greatly among those affected—some lead independent lives, while others may require extensive care.

Changes in the brain notably influence daily life, leading to issues ranging from seizures and developmental delays to challenges in behavior and intellectual capacity. TSC stands as the leading genetic cause for epilepsy, with a significant 40-50% correlation between TSC and autism spectrum disorder. Moreover, it links to broader health concerns, as many affected individuals might also face difficulties associated with traumatic brain injuries, diabetes, and certain cancers, impacting millions across the U.S.

Celebrating Community Efforts

Since its inception in 2002, volunteers have organized 544 walks under the Step Forward to Cure TSC banner, accumulating over $24 million for community programs, educational resources, TSC research, and advocacy. Kari Luther Rosbeck, the TSC Alliance President and CEO, emphasizes that these grassroots initiatives foster a supportive environment where affected individuals can connect, share hope, and pursue collective solutions for TSC-related challenges.

Event Details

This year's event will feature several in-person locations starting in Houston, TX, on April 11, and concluding in Murray, UT, on June 6. Other cities hosting events include Nashville, Renton, Rockville, Chicago, Pasadena, Charlotte, Dallas-Fort Worth, Yuba City, Tampa, Brookfield, West Chester, and Perry on various dates in April and May.
