Global X Launches NYSE® 100 ETF
Global X Management Company LLC, a leading provider of exchange-traded funds (ETFs) in New York, has unveiled its latest financial product: the Global X NYSE® 100 ETF (ticker: NYSX). This new ETF is designed to provide investors with strategic exposure to 100 of the most prominent technology and tech-enabled companies operating on major U.S. exchanges.
This ETF is based on the newly established NYSE® 100 Index, which employs a unique, rules-based methodology. The Index encompasses companies from significant exchanges including the NYSE, accommodating firms that are characterized by their substantial market capitalization. By doing so, it aims to showcase a blend of core technology innovators and businesses that leverage technology to propel growth in various sectors.
Ryan O'Connor, the CEO of Global X, expressed enthusiasm about this launch, calling it a significant development for the company's trajectory as an ETF innovator. He remarked, "Our partnership with NYSE to present this fund shows our pledge to create financial products that not only conform to but also revolutionize investor access. NYSX serves as a thoughtful, forward-looking solution that meets the evolving needs of investors."
The NYSE® 100 Index uses a dynamic rebalancing strategy, which enables it to adapt and include emerging players that are reshaping the landscape of the tech sector. Investors can gain insights into sector innovation, as the Index includes not only traditional technology firms but also those from consumer discretionary, communication services, and select parts of the financial services sector.
"The conventional methods of defining technology in index funds have lagged behind the rapid pace of innovation," noted Pedro Palandrani, Head of Product Research and Development at Global X. He highlighted that the NYSX has been meticulously designed to furnish investors with real, impactful exposure to innovation, which is often missed by traditional investment benchmarks.
According to Lynn Martin, the President of NYSE Group, "Having a technology-focused ETF that spans across various sectors offers investors a comprehensive perspective on the innovations driving the U.S. economy. We are delighted to collaborate with Global X to launch this inclusive ETF, which genuinely reflects the performance aspirations of investors interested in growth-oriented tech companies."
To qualify for inclusion in the NYSE® 100 Index, companies must reside within the tech sector or specific sub-industries. Compliance is based on a weighted assessment of each company's market capitalization, average trading volume over three months, price-to-sales ratio, and annual sales growth, ensuring that the Index remains competitive and relevant.
In addition to monitoring performance, quarterly reconstitutions of the Index allow for the quick integration of newly public companies and fast-growing disruptors. This responsive approach aims to amplify the representation of emerging innovators, thereby keeping pace with market trends.
