Potomac Bank, a prominent banking institution based in West Virginia, has proudly announced the appointment of Carolyn K. Johnson as the new Senior Vice President and Director of Digital and Payment Strategy. This important role is pivotal as the bank aims to enhance its digital banking services and streamline the customer experience with innovative payment solutions.

In a statement from Anthony Ranghelli, Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer, the appointment was met with enthusiasm. Ranghelli expressed confidence in Johnson's capabilities, noting her extensive decade-long experience focused on client-centric services. He emphasized that her leadership will be instrumental in ensuring a secure and effective digital banking experience for the bank’s clientele.

Before joining Potomac Bank, Carolyn Johnson played a vital role as the Retail Market Executive for LINKBANK, where she took charge of retail strategies and market expansion efforts. Her previous financial service positions also include serving as Chief Retail Operations Officer at Virginia Partners Bank, along with foundational branch experience at PNC Bank. Johnson holds both an MBA and a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Mary Washington in Virginia.

Recognized for her leadership in the banking sector, Johnson was named to the Independent Community Bankers of America’s 40 Under 40 list in 2019 and has also received the Rising Star Award from the Virginia Association of Community Bankers. Her professional accomplishments are complemented by a strong dedication to community service. She actively volunteers with the Marine Corps Marathon and supports Gwyneth's Gift Foundation in Fredericksburg, Virginia. Previously, she served as a Board Member and Treasurer at the Thurman Brisben Center for several years.

Johnson resides in Prince William County, Virginia, with her husband and daughter. In her leisure time, she enjoys exploring the great outdoors, especially hiking in the scenic Shenandoah region, as well as traveling with her family.
