VEOCEL™ Launches Innovative Lyocell Fibers for Enhanced Cleaning at WOW 2025

VEOCEL™ Lyocell Fibers for Enhanced Cleaning Performance

At the World of Wipes® (WOW) 2025 event taking place in Columbus, Ohio, the renowned nonwoven specialty fabric brand, VEOCEL™, is set to unveil its latest innovation: Lyocell fibers specifically designed for improved cleaning efficiency. This groundbreaking development promises to redefine the fabric market for disinfectant wipes and cleaning products, aligning with the brand’s motto, Unleash Possibilities.

Revolutionizing Cleaning Efficiency

The newly introduced Lyocell fibers aim to enhance cleaning performance through their robust and dense fabric structure that provides a superior user experience. These fibers ensure an even liquid distribution, drastically reducing the likelihood of excess dripping while enabling users to maintain better control during cleaning tasks. Compared to conventional synthetic materials, each VEOCEL™ Lyocell wipe can clean up to twice the surface area while exhibiting significantly improved disinfection effectiveness.

Compatibility with Active Ingredients

A remarkable feature of these advanced fibers is their compatibility with commonly used active ingredients in disinfectants, such as quaternary ammonium compounds (quats). Unlike most other cellulose fibers, which require additional chemical treatments to achieve similar functionalities, VEOCEL™ Lyocell fibers are produced using meticulously selected raw materials and optimized manufacturing processes. This approach minimizes binding with active ingredients, effectively allowing these fibers to be used in applications predominantly occupied by plastic materials until now.

Designed for Challenging Environments

Additionally, the new Lyocell fibers boast excellent wet strength and dimensional stability. Their structural integrity is maintained even at lower weights, making them particularly suitable for demanding cleaning environments. This includes a range of applications from household cleaning tasks to industrial and institutional settings.

Eco-Friendly Credentials

As part of VEOCEL™’s commitment to sustainability, all Lyocell fibers are derived from wood sources and are biodegradable. They are manufactured through a closed-loop process that conserves resources and minimizes air and water emissions. Importantly, these enhanced cleaning fibers retain the high ecological standards set by VEOCEL™ while delivering exceptional technical performance.

Patricia A. Sargeant, Executive Vice President of nonwoven fabrics at Lenzing AG, states, "By launching our enhanced cleaning Lyocell fibers, we are opening up new avenues for our customers to consider cellulose fibers in disinfectant wipes, enhancing excellent performance while reinforcing their commitment to environmental responsibility."
