Under Canvas Unveils $50 Million Investment to Enhance Outdoor Hospitality Experience

Under Canvas Announces Major Investment to Improve Guest Experience

Denver, March 18, 2025 – In a bold move that underscores its commitment to outdoor hospitality, Under Canvas Inc. has announced an unprecedented $50 million investment aimed at innovating and upgrading its locations across the nation for the upcoming 2025 season. This significant commitment reflects Under Canvas’s ambition to remain at the forefront of upscale outdoor experiences, blending comfort with nature in a way that enriches guest interactions with the great outdoors.

Under Canvas has been a pioneer in the realm of luxurious camping, merging the beauty of nature with the comforts typically found in high-end accommodations. According to CEO Matt Gaghen, this investment demonstrates an unwavering commitment to enhancing guest experiences at their sites. The company is excited to unveil several improvements and expansions that will bring guests closer to nature while providing them with the luxury to which they are accustomed.

What's New for 2025?

The 2025 enhancements include:

Two New Camps

Under Canvas will introduce two new camping locations in 2025, marking its entry into California and the Pacific Northwest.

  • - Under Canvas Yosemite is set to open on May 15, 2025. Nestled in an idyllic 80-acre forest location, the camp will provide guests with a serene setting just 10 minutes from the west entrance of Yosemite National Park. Visitors will find themselves surrounded by California Black Oak and Ponderosa Pine trees, offering a perfect backdrop for adventure while enjoying comfortable lodging. Guests will also benefit from direct access to park transport from a dedicated stop on the property.

  • - Under Canvas Columbia River Gorge will welcome its first guests on May 29, 2025. Located on 120-acres in Washington’s stunning White Salmon River Valley, the camp will offer breathtaking views of the Columbia River Gorge, famous for its waterfalls, towering mountains, lush forests, and renowned wineries. Just an hour’s drive from Portland, this location is perfect for those looking to blend exploration and relaxation.

Family-Friendly Additions

Understanding the importance of family experiences in the great outdoors, Under Canvas will launch new safari-style tents specifically for children. Locations in Moab, Columbia River Gorge, North Yellowstone-Paradise Valley, and the Great Smoky Mountains will feature these enchanting tents. Equipped with elevated wooden decks, nightlights, and whimsical string lights, these tents will aim to impress young adventurers and create lasting memories under the stars.

Expansion and Refreshing Current Locations

In response to high demand, Under Canvas will also expand its North Yellowstone-Paradise Valley site by adding additional tents to accommodate more guests wishing to experience Yellowstone’s natural beauty.

Guests at the Under Canvas Moab and Great Smoky Mountains camps can look forward to refreshed tents, modern furnishings, and expanded social areas. Enhancements will include the addition of new shade pods, fire pits, and upgraded outdoor seating for communal gatherings.

The Under Canvas Philosophy

Under Canvas operates a network of 13 camp locations, each offering a distinctive experience. From Montana and Utah to Tennessee and now California and Washington, the brand is synonymous with luxury camping that delivers both adventure and relaxation. Each camp is thoughtfully designed to blend seamlessly with its surroundings while providing guests with upscale amenities that offer comfort amid nature’s wonders.

As part of a broader vision, Under Canvas also launched ULUM, a bespoke resort brand aimed at enhancing access to luxury outdoor experiences in iconic locations. The brand debuted its first site in Moab, Utah, in the spring of 2023, marking an expansion into more traditional resort-style offerings in nature.

For outdoor enthusiasts and those seeking a luxury retreat in nature, Under Canvas appears dedicated to transforming how individuals engage with the great outdoors. With this record investment, it’s clear they are not just building camps but creating lasting memories that celebrate the beauty of nature and the essence of togetherness.
