AEON All Japan Speech Showcase: A Unique Online Event

On December 27, 2025, AEON Corporation, known for its English language instruction, successfully held its first nationwide online speech presentation event titled the "AEON All Japan Speech Showcase." This event marks a significant return after being temporarily paused since 2020 due to various challenges, including the pandemic.

The primary objective of this event was not to hold a competitive contest but to encourage students to share their English learning experiences through speeches. By doing so, students could appreciate the joy of communicating in English, recognize their improvement, and reflect on the value of learning a foreign language. Each participant was awarded a certificate and a medal, affirming their accomplishments.

A total of 24 students participated in the event: 6 from high school and above, and 19 from middle school and below. They had all undergone preliminary presentations at their respective schools and video evaluations by region to qualify for this showcase. Even though one participant could not join on the day, those present showed remarkable enthusiasm and commitment to communicating their thoughts in English.

Participants Overview

The high school segment had six participants who presented a wide range of topics, showcasing their personal growth and insights. For instance, H.K. from Kanagawa talked about the unexpected benefits of learning English as a family. She emphasized the improvement in her vocabulary and delivery as essential skills honed through practice. Similarly, H.T. from Osaka discussed the advantages of challenging oneself through such opportunities, and I.S. from Hokkaido shared her vision of becoming a soccer coach, illustrating her journey and desire to improve her language skills.

Younger participants, including primary and middle school students, presented on topics from their dreams to personal experiences, echoing their aspirations for the future. For example, M.N. from Chiba inspired everyone with her speech titled "Never Give Up!"

Despite their age and experience, every student exhibited impressive speech structure, expressive delivery, and attention to pronunciation. Their individual presentations effectively conveyed their ideas and emotions, reflecting the hard work they've put into their English studies.

Community Feedback

After the event, feedback from participants and their parents highlighted the positive impact of the showcase. Students expressed a desire to improve for future events and shared how the experience motivated them to continue growing in their language skills. Parents noted the event's significant role in boosting their children's confidence and commending the diverse presentations.

AEON commented on the successful execution of the national speech showcase, stating that it allowed students to confidently communicate their thoughts in English.
