Lifecycle Renewables Teams Up with East Coast for Truburn Heating Oil Distribution in NYC
In a significant advancement for sustainable energy solutions, Lifecycle Renewables has partnered with East Coast to distribute Truburn, a renewable heating oil, to the bustling city of New York. This collaboration aims to provide residential and commercial buildings in NYC with an eco-friendly heating option that adheres to strict environmental regulations.
Truburn, developed from recycled vegetable cooking oil, has been engineered to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by an impressive 86%. Compared to conventional heating oils, Truburn is not only environmentally friendly but also considered carbon neutral. By transforming used cooking oil, sourced from participating restaurants, into renewable heating oil, Lifecycle Renewables showcases a commitment to recycling and sustainability.
Rory Gaunt, CEO of Lifecycle Renewables, emphasizes the importance of this distribution agreement, stating, "This partnership with East Coast signifies a crucial step forward in our expansion. Their expertise in sustainable heat solutions and understanding of regulatory complexities will facilitate the introduction of Truburn to New York's vibrant market."
East Coast, known for its residential and commercial fuel delivery services, will become the first provider in New York City to offer customers a compliant and convenient alternative to traditional No. 4 heating oil. Notably, No. 4 oil will be prohibited in city-owned buildings as of July 1, 2025, with all other buildings following suit by July 1, 2027. Truburn meets the healthy environmental standards imposed by New York City's Local Law 97, which mandates a 40% reduction in greenhouse emissions for buildings larger than 25,000 square feet by 2030.
John Knief, President of East Coast, remarked, "We chose Lifecycle Renewables as our biofuel partner for a clean, compliant solution that simplifies heating for our clients. Truburn can be delivered using the same systems as traditional heating oils, allowing for easy integration into existing infrastructures. We also provide conversion services for boilers, ensuring a seamless transition. This is a mutually beneficial partnership that supports community and environmental goals."
Both Lifecycle Renewables and East Coast will showcase their innovative solutions at the upcoming AHR Expo in Orlando, Florida, from February 10-12, 2025. Attendees can visit booth #9045 to learn more about new systems accommodating electric, biofuel, and natural gas heating infrastructures.
