Certares and Clearview Hotel Capital Strengthen Presence with Hyatt Regency Savannah Acquisition

Certares and Clearview Hotel Capital Acquire Hyatt Regency Savannah

In a significant move for the hospitality real estate market, Certares Real Estate Management LLC and Clearview Hotel Capital LLC announced their acquisition of the Hyatt Regency Savannah, a full-service hotel boasting 351 rooms, situated in the heart of Savannah, Georgia. This acquisition, which was finalized on July 1, 2026, underlines both companies' commitment to investing in high-quality assets in booming markets.

The Hyatt Regency Savannah, established in 1981, enjoys a prime location along River Street, right next to the picturesque waterfront. The hotel offers a range of amenities, including over 40,000 square feet of versatile meeting and event spaces, several dining options, and a parking garage designed for over 300 vehicles. Its strategic position allows guests direct access to the Historic District of Savannah, attracting millions of visitors annually.

According to Nolan Hecht, Senior Managing Director at Certares, the acquisition is aligned with their strategy of targeting well-situated hotels in markets with diverse drivers for demand. "Savannah has evolved into one of the fastest-growing hospitality markets in the U.S. This isn’t just due to its historical significance but also the thriving groups, meetings, and business travel linked to the Savannah Convention Center's expansion and the economic progress spurred by the Port of Savannah," he noted.

The partnership has ambitious plans for the Hyatt Regency Savannah. They aim to upgrade guest rooms and enhance guest-facing facilities to ensure the hotel remains competitive while continuing to serve a wide array of travelers—from leisure seekers to business delegates. Jon Kline, Founder and CEO of Clearview, expressed confidence in Savannah’s potential, stating that the city is becoming increasingly popular among vacationers while also accommodating significant business activities. The unique charm of Savannah, combined with sound investments in its hotel infrastructure, makes it a desirable location for travelers.

This latest acquisition marks Certares’ 17th property since launching its real estate platform in 2021. With this deal, the company strengthens its presence within the hospitality sector, where it oversees more than 4,000 hotel rooms across various premier destinations in the U.S.

Certares was established in 2012 with a focus on travel and hospitality investments, managing approximately $6.4 billion in regulatory assets. The firm’s extensive expertise allows it to strategically partner with management teams, ensuring sustained growth and profitability in their hospitality investments.

On the other hand, Clearview Hotel Capital has been in operation since 2007, specializing in hotel acquisitions in high-growth markets. With a successful track record that includes over 71 properties and an investment portfolio exceeding $2 billion, Clearview is well-positioned to make this latest acquisition a grand success.

In summary, the acquisition of Hyatt Regency Savannah demonstrates Certares and Clearview's strategic commitment to enhancing their hospitality offerings in a market with rising demand. This partnership not only aims to elevate the guest experience but also reinforces Savannah’s status as a top-tier destination for both leisure and business travelers, making this acquisition a noteworthy development in the sector.
