FREE DAM LIFE Chosen for TAIS Care Technology Support in Japan

FREE DAM LIFE Selected as a Care Technology by TAIS

In a significant development for the care sector in Japan, the innovative device FREE DAM LIFE, designed by Daiichikosho Co., Ltd., has been recognized and officially registered with the Techno-Aid Association's Welfare Equipment Information System (TAIS). This device is equipped with comprehensive content targeting the maintenance and enhancement of various life functions, including motion, oral health, and cognitive abilities. Effective from July 2026, it has been selected as part of the Functional Training Support category, underlining its importance in alleviating the burden on care staff while enhancing productivity.

TAIS, which operates under the oversight of the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare, has been in operation since 1994. It serves as a crucial information dissemination system that databases specifications, functionalities, and performance of welfare equipment and care technologies across domestic and international markets. As of July 14, 2026, the database comprises 19,694 registered products.

In an effort to utilize AI and robotics to mitigate challenges faced in caregiving settings, the Ministry of Economy, Trade, and Industry, alongside the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare, is set to establish key areas for care technology applications in June 2024. Products that meet these criteria are categorized and made available through TAIS as part of their care technology database.

The credibility and reliability of TAIS data make it a valuable resource for municipalities and caregiving businesses nationwide. Furthermore, many local governments leverage TAIS information as a reference point when selecting subsidized tools and devices under the Ministry's care technology introduction support initiatives.

After thorough evaluations by an external committee of experts organized by the Techno-Aid Association, FREE DAM LIFE was acknowledged for its alignment with the care technology priority areas designated. Consequently, it has been classified under the Functional Training Support category in TAIS.

This designation not only enhances the recognition and evaluation of FREE DAM LIFE within the care technology sector but also promotes broader adoption. Local governments, alongside care businesses, will find it easier to access support for the introduction of FREE DAM LIFE through national subsidy programs.

Daiichikosho emphasizes the critical role of technological incorporation in optimizing workflows in caregiving environments. By fostering solutions to longstanding challenges such as workforce shortages and operational burdens, the company is committed to advancing the caregiving industry.

TAIS aims to streamline the adoption of caregiving technologies like FREE DAM LIFE, assisting businesses in establishing more productive and comfortable work environments through funding assistance for technology implementations. This will ultimately contribute to improved services for the elderly.
