Major operators including Bouygues Telecom and China Unicom shared their successful implementations in aligning network requirements with smart home service development and the integration of AI innovations.
Kim Jin, Vice President of Huawei's Optical Business Product Line, elaborated on a range of solutions aimed at driving the next-generation optical network evolution. By bolstering parameters like bandwidth and coverage, Huawei is set to empower operators to construct robust Ultra-Broadband (UBB) networks while also providing premium service offerings.
Among the standout innovations was Huawei's Wi-Fi 7 FTTR solution, delivering stable speeds of 4 Gbps across various rooms and enabling seamless roaming within households. This tri-band mesh system integrates AI-based interference mitigation, enhancing signal penetration through barriers and increasing speeds even in challenging environments.
Additionally, next-generation Passive Optical Networks (PON) have been highlighted as a means to reduce latency while enhancing bandwidth. Innovative features like application-level PON slicing and Wi-Fi interface scheduling allow for dedicated channels for VIP applications, ensuring a superior, multilevel network experience.
Moreover, Huawei introduced a groundbreaking Optical Cross-Connect (OXC) solution designed to improve AI performance by minimizing network latency. This advancement extends optical switching capabilities within urban networks and is tailored to facilitate millisecond-level AI service computations.
The company is also focused on evolving towards 400G/800G architectures to eliminate bandwidth bottlenecks that challenge existing networks. By utilizing 3D mesh architecture and leveraging the Super C+L range alongside full-scale underwater cable transmission, Huawei aims to enhance data capacity and effectively manage cross-border traffic.
Ensuring continuous AI service delivery is a priority for Huawei, and coordinated hardware and software updates, supplemented by advanced algorithms and eOTDR technologies, are set to equip operators with tools to identify and minimize network risks accurately.
The incorporation of innovative liquid crystal materials enables swift optical network switching through dynamic wavelength management, achieving high reliability with rapid 50 ms transitions.
For operational efficiency and network maintenance, Huawei has proposed introducing agents such as FANSpirit and OTNSpirit. These tools are designed to reduce user complaints stemming from home broadband networks and optimize routing based on capacity, latency, and reliability, leading to smart upgrade capabilities for operators.
