BRI UMKM EXPO(RT) 2025: A Platform for Indonesian MSMEs

The highly anticipated BRI UMKM EXPO(RT) 2025 is set to take place from January 30 to February 2, 2025, at ICE BSD City Nusantara, Jakarta. This sixth edition of the expo, previously known as UMKM EXPO(RT) BRILIANPRENEUR, reinforces PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia's (BRI) dedication to empowering Indonesian Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) by expanding their access to international markets.

The theme for this year's event, "Broadening MSME's Global Outreach," encapsulates BRI's strategic aim of enhancing the competitiveness of these enterprises while creating new global opportunities. The announcement was made at a press conference held in Jakarta on January 24, 2025. This gathering saw key BRI figures in attendance, including Amam Sukriyanto, BRI's Director of Commercial, Small, and Medium Business, along with other notable directors and representatives from the MSME sector.

The response from Indonesian MSMEs has been remarkable, highlighting their eagerness to participate in this platform. A staggering 3,006 MSMEs applied for a place in the expo, from which 1,000 selected enterprises represent a variety of sectors, categorizing them into Home Décor, Craft, Food & Beverage, Accessories & Beauty, Fashion & Wastra, and Healthcare & Wellness.

As part of the expo, numerous engaging activities will be scheduled, including MSME exhibitions, partner gatherings, talk shows, workshops, and high-profile competitions such as the Indonesia Barista Championship and the Indonesia Brewers Cup Championship, which are managed by the Specialty Coffee Association of Indonesia (SCAI).

In addition to the expo activities, BRI will host the BRI Microfinance Outlook 2025, an international seminar focusing on empowering the people’s economy as a robust foundation for inclusive and sustainable growth. This seminar is expected to attract a wide array of speakers from both domestic and international backgrounds. Notable attendees include Indonesia's Minister of Finance, Sri Mulyani, Minister of National Development Planning, Rachmat Pambudy, and Chief Economist of the Asian Development Bank, Albert Francis Park. Economic insights will also be shared by the Nobel laureate Paul Romer and Harsha Rodrigues from Women’s World Banking.

The BRI Microfinance Outlook 2025 aims to delve into strategies aimed at enhancing financial inclusivity, which is critical to enabling the growth of MSMEs and self-sustaining local economies. By bringing together innovative MSME products and impactful economic discussions, the expo is poised to become a key player in reinforcing a people-centered economy that fosters inclusive growth both in Indonesia and on a global scale.

The event marks another stride in Jakarta's efforts to position itself as a vibrant hub for local businesses to thrive internationally.
