Clean Energy Connect Secures ¥4.28 Billion in Series D Funding to Enhance Decarbonization Solutions

Clean Energy Connect Secures Series D Funding for a Sustainable Future

On June 6, 2025, Clean Energy Connect Inc., a pioneering firm focusing on decarbonization solutions, announced the successful closure of its first round of Series D funding, raising a substantial ¥4.28 billion. This funding has pushed their cumulative fundraising total to an impressive ¥57.4 billion. The investment came through partnerships with three entities: EEI Booster No. 1 Investment Limited Partnership, managed by Environmental Energy Investment Co., Ltd.; RJ Value Plus No. 1 Investment Limited Partnership, managed by J-Growth Co., Ltd.; and an additional investment fund, highlighting strong investor confidence in Clean Energy Connect’s mission and services.

Clean Energy Connect specializes in delivering green electricity and environmental value through non-FIT (Feed-in Tariff) solar power generation. Their services cater to decarbonization-focused businesses and participants in the RE100 initiative, providing tailored solutions to integrate renewable energy sources. With the recent funding, the company aims to meet the growing demand for decarbonization and renewable energy among its clients. The investment will be allocated to several key developments:

1. Expansion of Non-FIT Low-Pressure Solar Power Plants: The funding will accelerate the development of off-site corporate PPA (Power Purchase Agreement) services, particularly through the establishment of new non-FIT low-pressure solar power plants, which currently exceed 2,200 installations.

2. Enhancements to CEC-Cloud™ System: With the advancing digital transformation (DX) initiatives, the focus will be on improving the operational efficiency of the system that supports the entire workflow of plant development, management, operation, and service delivery.

3. Support for Renewable Energy Target Management: The GX Manager® system will aid clients in visualizing their renewable energy adoption rates while overseeing the accomplishment of their sustainability goals.

4. Promotion of 24/7 CFE Initiatives: Collaboration with battery storage systems and BEMS (Building Energy Management Systems) will enhance the company’s efforts toward implementing continuous renewable energy usage.

5. Strengthening Skilled Workforce: Clean Energy Connect plans to expand its staff and bolster its organizational structure to better serve customer needs and accelerate the adoption of green energy.

The company has established long-term contracts with major clients, such as Amazon, Dai-ichi Life Insurance, NTT Group, Nomura Real Estate, Sugi Holdings, Fujifilm, Google, Mitsubishi Estate, and Chiba University, for custom solar power solutions. Their commitment to providing a comprehensive one-stop service for planning, executing, and validating green power solutions has positioned them as a leader in the renewable energy sector.

A Commitment to Innovation and Sustainability

The successful funding round marks a vital step towards Clean Energy Connect's initiative to support customers in their transition to renewable energy sources and achieve their decarbonization goals. The firm aims to maintain agility and responsiveness to client needs, featuring a flexible service model that adapts to the demands of an evolving market.
