Exciting Results from the 1st Tohoku Qualifiers for the 2026 MyNavi High School Dance Competition

The MyNavi High School Dance Competition 2026 has witnessed its first qualifiers in Tohoku, showcasing the incredible talent of high school dancers dedicated to their art. Held on January 17 at the Rakurakukyo Hall in Taihaku Ward, Miyagi Prefecture, this event determined which two schools will progress to the highly anticipated finals set for April 18, 2026.

Schools Advancing to Finals


The competition featured two divisions: SMALL and LARGE. The winners of each division have qualified to showcase their performances at the final event.

SMALL Division Winner


Seiwa Gakuen High School / rutlocus
The exhilaration of victory rang clear in the voice of a senior dancer from the winning team, who expressed a strong desire to inspire their juniors, just as they had been inspired by their own seniors. "I am thrilled and hope to leave something for my juniors as my seniors did for me. I appreciate all your support!"

LARGE Division Winner


Hanamaki Higashi High School / Hanamaki Higashi Dance Club
The winning team shared their ambitions with infectious enthusiasm, stating, “We’re aiming for the top this year and are determined to perform on the big stage at Ryogoku! Our goal is the national championship, and we won’t stop here; we’ll continue to push ourselves.”

About the MyNavi High School Dance Competition 2026


This dance competition targets students from high schools and equivalent educational institutions across Japan. Established in 2015, this upcoming event marks the 11th iteration. Qualifying rounds will occur in a total of five regions: Kanto, Kansai, Tohoku, Chubu, and Kyushu.

Schools that qualify from these rounds will compete for the title of Japan’s best high school dance club in the MyNavi High School Dance Competition 2026 FINAL in April.
This season has seen an increase in prize slots for qualifying rounds and expanded eligibility for points, leading to a ‘Final Challenge’ that will determine which schools advance based on their point rankings after the qualifiers.
