Yushiro's Second Wonder Chemistry Lab
On July 27, 2025, Yushiro Corporation hosted the second edition of its exciting chemistry workshop, "Yushiro's Wonder Chemistry Lab," at the Samukawa Community Center in Kanagawa Prefecture. This event is part of Yushiro's commitment to give back to the local community, where it has operated a research facility for nearly 60 years.
The first workshop took place on August 1, 2023, and was met with tremendous success. Following that positive reception, this year's session also saw overwhelming interest, filling capacity within just one day of opening. Many returning participants from the previous workshop reinforced the event's reputation.
The workshop targeted fourth to sixth graders residing in the Samukawa area, focusing on three engaging experiments: "Signal Reaction," "Colorful Water with Purple Cabbage," and the crowd-favorite "Elephant Toothpaste." Attendees watched in awe as the experiments illustrated fundamental chemical properties through colorful reactions and engaging interactions.
The hands-on approach allowed children to see firsthand how science works, sparking curiosity and fun. Feedback collected after the event included glowing reviews such as, "It was fun! I want to participate again!" and, "I was thrilled to experience something I couldn’t do at school!" Helping create joyful memories during summer vacation, these experiences are invaluable for cultivating future scientific interest among young participants.
In addition to the experiments, attendees received samples of Yushiro’s disinfecting and deodorizing product "Pikyaminn," along with exclusive novelty bottles, further enhancing their experience.
This year's chemistry lab brought together science and fun, leaving participants eager for more hands-on workshops. As a company, Yushiro is committed to providing rich educational experiences for local children, laying the groundwork for continued learning through interactive events. Yushiro's dedication to science education in the community is not only fulfilling but paves the way for children to explore their interests further in the future.
In summary, the "Yushiro’s Wonder Chemistry Lab" aims to continually engage children through scientifically creative workshops, nurtured by the company's values of innovation and community service.
