A Celebration of Orchid Culture

This year marks the 65th installment of the Orchid Exhibition, organized by the Orchid Friendship Association (蘭友会), which embraces the spirit of enjoying orchids to foster human connections and to protect, understand, and share knowledge about these plants. The event will feature more than 600 orchids and is one of Japan's largest orchid exhibitions held in summer.

In 2026, the exhibition will coincide with an international competition held every four years, themed as the "Orchid Cup 2026." Visitors will have the chance to see representative orchids from various countries displayed according to their origin, enabling them to enjoy comparative appreciation of the differences in flower shapes, colors, and ecological traits.

Apart from the special exhibition of Oninoyagara, which is fascinating for its lack of chlorophyll, the event will showcase various cultivation techniques and methods through live demonstrations and workshops. Attendees will be able to learn about diverse ways to enjoy these stunning plants.
