Hainan Launches International Promotion for Agarwood and Yellow Rosewood Trade Fair in Dubai

On May 21, 2025, the Hainan International Media Center hosted a press conference in Dubai, UAE, unveiling the upcoming "Heavenly Fragrance - The Second Hainan International Agarwood and Yellow Rosewood Trade Fair." This significant event is aimed at promoting the agarwood and yellow rosewood industries, which play a vital role in Hainan's economy.

The press conference marked the launch of a global promotional campaign for the fair, which is scheduled to take place from November 27 to 30, 2025, in Haikou, Hainan’s capital. The inaugural edition of the fair in 2024 was a resounding success, attracting over 1,000 industry experts and representatives from Belt and Road Initiative partner countries, as well as more than 56,000 visitors. This initial event generated incredible sales exceeding CNY 537 million (approximately $74.5 million) and initiated the Global Agarwood Trade Alliance Initiative, underscoring the importance of this trade in the international market.

The forthcoming trade fair will cover an expansive 30,000 square meters of exhibition space and is expected to host over 5,000 guests from various regions including the Middle East, Southeast Asia, East Asia, and Europe. To facilitate participation, specially selected attendees from these regions will enjoy complimentary accommodations for four nights at luxury five-star hotels.

During the press conference, organizers announced their intention to collaborate closely with agarwood enterprises from Southeast Asia and the Middle East, alongside the Hainan Agarwood and Yellow Rosewood Museum. They aim to establish an international trading center in Hainan, reinforcing its position as a global hub for agarwood and rosewood commerce.

In addition, the Hainan Agarwood Industry Association took the opportunity to discuss the progress and advancements within China's agarwood sector. A series of agreements were signed between enterprises from the UAE and Hainan, aimed at deepening trade relations and cooperation regarding participation in the upcoming fair.

Following the press conference, a delegation comprising nearly 20 Chinese agarwood enterprises embarked on visits to local manufacturers and fragrance markets within Dubai. These visits are part of ongoing efforts to enhance understanding and foster connections between Chinese and Middle Eastern markets in the agarwood industry.

For those interested in participating in this significant industry event, registration for the Second Hainan International Agarwood and Yellow Rosewood Trade Fair is now open.

Stay tuned as Hainan continues to promote its rich traditions in agarwood and yellow rosewood, and watch for further updates leading up to the fair, poised to showcase the best of what these industries have to offer on an international stage.
