Families Encouraged to Celebrate National Brush Day with DTA Foundation's DentSquad Initiative

National Brush Day: Encouraging Oral Health in Children

As Halloween wraps up, November 1 marks the official celebration of National Brush Day, a day dedicated to raising awareness about children's oral health. This yearly event, spearheaded by the DTA Foundation, centers on instilling lifelong healthy habits in children by emphasizing the crucial practice of brushing their teeth for two minutes, twice a day. This initiative not only aims to enhance children's dental care but also fosters a fun and creative learning environment for families.

The DentSquad Initiative

This year, the DTA Foundation is bringing back its engaging #NBDDentSquad campaign. This initiative features four unique oral health superheroes: Captain Paste, Doctor Brush, Floss Fury, and The Cool Rinse. Designed to make oral health education exciting, the DentSquad encourages families to participate in various activities designed to promote good dental habits. The campaign invites families to complete coloring sheets and creative activities related to dental health. Each participant is encouraged to share their artworks on social media using the hashtag #NBDDentSquad or upload their creations at NationalBrushDay.com for a chance to win one of five $100 Amazon gift cards.

In addition, the DTA Foundation provides a plethora of free downloadable resources that enable families, dental professionals, and organizations to spread the important message of National Brush Day effectively. These materials can be found easily through the foundation’s website, allowing everyone to get involved and promote dental health within their communities.

A Commitment to Children's Oral Health

Under the guidance of Tim Long, Chair of the DTA Foundation Board and Chief Commercial Officer at A-dec, the DTA Foundation has committed itself to focusing on enhancing children's oral health. Long highlights the importance of establishing good dental habits early on, stating, "Every child deserves a healthy smile, boosting their confidence while improving their oral health. Building these good habits early is an important step toward making that possible."

The DTA Foundation aims to engage as many children and families as possible in this year's National Brush Day festivities. Their ongoing commitment is to create an environment where oral health education is accessible, fun, and impactful.

Making a Difference

The core message of National Brush Day is straightforward: become your own oral health champion. The DTA Foundation wants families to join the DentSquad, commit to good dental hygiene practices, and maintain healthy, bright smiles for years to come. By integrating these practices into their daily lives, families can make a significant difference in their children's oral health.
