Discover Yuuzawa Kogen's Summer Fair 2026
Get ready for a summer adventure at the Yuuzawa Kogen Panorama Park! From July 18 to August 23, the park will host the annual Summer Fair, providing visitors with an opportunity to create unforgettable memories at an elevation of 1,000 meters. Known for its breathtaking views and a variety of exciting summer activities, the park is the perfect destination for families looking to enjoy the great outdoors.
One of the highlights of the Summer Fair 2026 is the scenic five-minute ride on the Yuuzawa Kogen Ropeway, which is recognized as one of the largest in the world, accommodating up to 166 passengers at once. As you ascend to the peaks, take in the magnificent panorama that surrounds you.
This year, families can participate in the new attraction, "Nazotoki Treasure Hunter," where guests become protagonists in a treasure hunt story while exploring the park. The engaging event costs 500 yen for a participant kit, and adventurers will solve mysteries and complete challenges to find hidden clues throughout the park. As a bonus, participants who show their answer sheet at one of the on-site restaurants can enjoy a complimentary soft drink!
Returning to the Summer Fair is the popular indoor attraction, "DIGGING RAW STONE." For just 1,000 yen, visitors can experience the excitement of excavating colorful gemstones buried in the sand. This attraction is perfect for rainy days and the gems you find can be taken home as treasured reminders of your adventure.
Families can also enjoy the beloved "Mizuasobi Water Play Area," a delightful space where kids can splash around safely. This free attraction is designed for younger children, complete with shallow water zones and fun slides. Remember to pack swimwear and a change of clothes for your little ones!
And don't forget to cool off with the seasonal offerings from the popular Gelato shop, "Gareba House." Indulge in their limited-time summer soda floats, including the peach float and hydrangea jelly float, each priced at 1,200 yen, perfect for refreshing yourself during your park visit.
During the Obon holiday from August 13 to 15, the park will extend its operating hours by 30 minutes, allowing you to enjoy more of what Yuuzawa Kogen has to offer. The ropeway and various activities will be open later, ensuring you have ample time to explore and relax.
Yuuzawa Kogen Panorama Park is easily accessible. It’s only a 70-minute ride from Tokyo via the Joetsu Shinkansen to Echigo-Yuzawa station, followed by an 8-minute walk to the park. If you prefer driving, you can reach the park from the Kanetsu Expressway in about two hours.
