AtomVie Global Radiopharma's New Facility in Hamilton

On September 7, 2026, AtomVie Global Radiopharma (AtomVie), a leading global Contract Development and Manufacturing Organization (CDMO) in the field of radiopharmaceuticals, celebrated the grand opening of its innovative manufacturing facility located in Hamilton, Ontario. This state-of-the-art site at 10 Aeropark Boulevard marks a significant milestone for AtomVie, designed specifically to translate clinical successes into precision treatments that can significantly improve patients' lives worldwide.

With an investment exceeding $160 million, this 6,700 square meter facility stands as the largest CDMO site of its kind in North America dedicated to the development of radiopharmaceuticals. The facility is equipped for varying production scales, from low to high throughput, effectively increasing AtomVie’s production capacity more than tenfold. Tailored to support growth throughout the product lifecycle, this location facilitates a seamless transition from early-stage development to commercial manufacturing of radiopharmaceutical products, offering modular spaces that can adapt to future client needs.

AtomVie is a spin-off from the Centre for Probe Development and Commercialization (CPDC), an excellence center at McMaster University aimed at bolstering Canada’s leadership in radiopharmaceutical innovation and manufacturing. Presently, AtomVie is expanding its workforce, with plans to employ over 200 professionals by the end of 2026 as the new facility reaches its operational capacity.

Boasting over a decade of experience and recognized technical expertise in process development and analytical methods, AtomVie has supported more than 70 clinical development programs and technology transfers. It has produced over 1,000 cGMP-compliant batches and delivered more than 4,400 cGMP doses to patients across 28 countries on six continents, achieving a delivery success rate of over 99%. With this new facility, AtomVie is poised to further enhance its production capacity in collaboration with partners from clinical development to commercial manufacturing.
