CURATION⇄FAIR Tokyo to Showcase Art in a Historic Setting
The anticipation is building for the upcoming CURATION⇄FAIR Tokyo, an art event that promises to connect the values behind artistic works with their circulation in society. Hosted by Universal Ad Network, this year's exhibition will take place from January 23 to February 8, 2026, while the accompanying art fair is set for February 13 to February 15. This annual event marks its third iteration, continuing its legacy of offering unique viewing experiences since its inception in 2024.
For this edition, the event will return to its historic venue, the registered cultural property known as
kudan house (formerly the residence of Yamaguchi Bankichi), which enhances the exhibition's atmosphere. The architectural backdrop allows for a distinctive encounter between the artwork and the space, enriching visitors' experiences as they explore both contemporary art and its historical context.
Exhibition: Beauty, Ambiguity, Time and Place
The exhibition features the final chapter of curator
Mizuki Endo's series, titled "Beauty, Ambiguity, Time and Place." With contributions from artists like
Yosuke Amemiya and
Teppei Soutome, the display intertwines a wide range of artwork—from Joseon white porcelain to modern Western-style paintings—within the historical environment of kudan house. Participants are invited to experience this engaging blend of past and present, fostered by Endo's curated approach to contemporary art.
In her own words, Endo aims to create a special contemporary art experience where diverse artworks meet visitors in a memorable fashion.
