Discover the Tranquil Reading Haven 'Honno Mori Komagome Honke' Opening Soon!

The Opening of 'Honno Mori Komagome Honke'

On November 18, 2025, the highly anticipated private library, 'Honno Mori Komagome Honke', will begin accepting reservations. Operated by Bunkan Tsushin Co., Ltd., this new cultural landmark promises to offer a unique and tranquil environment where visitors can enjoy 100 minutes of dedicated reading time. The books featured in this space have been carefully selected by notable figures who wish to share their cherished reads with their loved ones.

Thoughtful Renovation

The library is situated in a beautifully renovated annex called 'Keigiso,' established in 1960. This serene space has been transformed into a quiet reading room that seamlessly integrates historical architectural elements with contemporary comforts—creating a restorative atmosphere for patrons.

Architectural Significance

Originally designed by the renowned architect Iwao Yamawaki (1898–1987), 'Keigiso' is a product of exquisite design known for his work on notable buildings like the former Haiyuza Theatre and the campus of Nihon University College of Arts. 'Honno Mori Komagome Honke' pays homage to this legacy through its thoughtful renovation, showcasing a blend of historical beauty and modern utility.

A Collection of Curated Books

At 'Honno Mori Komagome Honke', you can find the complete series of 'Gift Books', a project initiated by Bunkan Tsushin, featuring selections made by various celebrities over five years. This collection also includes books recommended by publishers and other partners, providing an opportunity to engage with not just the literature, but also the stories behind them—all in an atmosphere that emphasizes peace and reflection.

Enhance Your Reading with Coffee

To complement the reading experience, patrons can enjoy single-origin coffee selected by Solflare Co., Ltd.'s 'CROWD ROASTER'. This premium coffee has been curated with meticulous care by top industry professionals from the selection of green beans to the roasting and brewing processes. The coffee is ground just before serving, ensuring a rich aroma that elevates the tranquil reading experience.

Immersive Acoustic Space

Adding to the ambiance, high-resolution nature sounds recorded by JVC Kenwood’s sound engineers in Yakushima and Shirakami Mountains will be played throughout the library. These intricate sounds adapt according to the time of day and season, creating an immersive environment as if you were nestled deep within the forest.
