Peter Carlin Transition to CFO at Adient
On October 1, 2026, Peter Carlin will transition from his role on the board of directors of Adient (NYSE: ADNT) to a key leadership position in the financial sector of the company. Following his resignation from the board, Carlin will first assume the role of Vice President of Finance and will be promoted to Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer by November 16, 2026.
Adient, known globally for its advancement in automotive seating, announced this significant change against the backdrop of executive transitions that the company is currently navigating. Mark Oswald, the outgoing executive vice president and CFO, is also set to depart from the company effective the same day as Carlin’s appointment. This transition aims to ensure continuity and forward momentum in Adient's operation and strategy.
Carlin has been a board member of Adient since 2018, a period during which he has significantly contributed insights and strategic guidance to both the management team and his fellow board members. Frederick A. Henderson, the board chair, expressed gratitude for Carlin’s contributions thus far and is optimistic about his future endeavors in the new executive role.
Jerome Dorlack, Adient's current President and CEO, also emphasized the importance of both Carlin’s and Oswald's contributions to Adient, highlighting their roles in strengthening customer relationships and fostering operational excellence throughout their tenures. Dorlack believes that Carlin’s leadership will be critical as the company seeks to maintain its positive growth trajectory and navigate future challenges in the automotive sector.
In light of this personnel shift, Adient's board will reduce its size to seven directors following Carlin's resignation, ensuring a streamlined governance structure moving forward.
