Enfinity Global Reaches 535 MW Solar Capacity Milestone in Italy
Enfinity Global Achieves Major Solar Capacity Milestone in Italy
Enfinity Global, a prominent player in the renewable energy sector, has recently announced a significant milestone – the achievement of 535 MW of operational solar capacity in Italy, all accomplished in just three years. This landmark achievement underscores the company’s ability to rapidly scale up energy infrastructure to meet the increasing power demands in the country.
The company operates 18 photovoltaic plants located in the Lazio and Emilia-Romagna regions of Italy. Collectively, these facilities are projected to generate nearly 1 terawatt-hour (TWh) of renewable energy annually, successfully preventing the emission of approximately 290,904 tons of CO₂ equivalent each year. This output is comparable to the annual energy consumption of around 350,000 households, illustrating the significant positive impact on the environment and energy supply.
Alessandro Ceschiat, Enfinity Global's General Manager for Italy, emphasized the importance of reaching this installed capacity, stating, "Achieving 535 MW is a crucial milestone that demonstrates our capability to build an energy infrastructure serving the nation while creating added value and direct jobs, as well as economic benefits for the region. Each megawatt we deploy contributes to strengthening Italy's energy security, enhancing the competitiveness of the Italian manufacturing system, and supporting ambitious decarbonization goals."
This accomplishment has been made possible due to the dedication of Enfinity’s team across Italy and Europe, along with the collaboration of various partners in the industry, finance, and institutions that share their vision. Maria Diez, General Manager for Operations in Europe at Enfinity Global, added, "It is a team effort that continues to convert ambitious projects into operational plants that serve the Italian energy system."
As of now, Enfinity is noted to be the second-largest operator in Italy based on installed solar capacity and has surpassed the 1 GW mark. The company is also expanding its presence in the energy storage sector, with battery energy storage systems (BESS) approved for approximately 600 MW. These figures fall under a broader development pipeline of 9.1 GW, showcasing the vast potential for growth and investment.
The growth showcased by Enfinity's Italian portfolio is bolstered by strong expertise in capital structuring and project financing, allowing the company to secure over €1 billion in investments for its projects. Enfinity Global, founded in 2019, is a leader in energy solutions, offering services that enable corporate, industrial, and institutional clients to efficiently meet their rapidly growing power needs.
Currently, the company's project portfolio encompasses over 39.6 GW of renewable energy and energy storage capacity, including 1.2 GW of operational facilities and 1.6 GW currently under construction. With its headquarters located in the USA and additional offices in Europe, Japan, and India, Enfinity Global employs over 400 people, further solidifying its role as a major player in the renewable energy landscape.
