Agent Co. Launches Smartphone Consultation Service in Kochi's Tosasemizu City

Supporting Digital Inclusion: Agent Co.'s New Initiative

On July 30, 2025, Agent Co., based in Shibuya, Tokyo, is set to launch its "Smartphone Consultation" service in Tosasemizu City, Kochi. This initiative is part of a broader collaboration with Tosasemizu City, stemming from a comprehensive partnership agreement aimed at promoting digital transformation (DX) in local communities. Under the leadership of Koji Shimonia, the company seeks to empower residents, particularly the elderly, in navigating the digital landscape.

Addressing Local Digital Challenges

Tosasemizu City faces unique challenges, particularly due to a lack of career shops and resources for smartphone users. As the region grapples with an aging population and a digital divide, the need for accessible support is crucial. Many residents, especially elders, have expressed a desire for spaces where they can comfortably seek help with smartphones. This initiative seeks to fill that gap.

To combat these challenges, Agent Co. is introducing not just a consultation service but also its successful "Pita-Sma" service, which offers expert advice on optimal smartphone plans. This initiative will provide a neutral platform, free of affiliations with specific carriers, ensuring residents receive tailored guidance that suits their unique needs.

What is the Smartphone Consultation Service?

The "Smartphone Consultation" service will be a welcoming, reservation-based space for residents to discuss various smartphone-related concerns. From difficulties with typing texts to configuring apps like LINE or GPS for local hospitals, residents can receive tailored help. Agent Co. has successfully implemented similar consultations in other municipalities, adapted to local needs with a proven track record.

- Target Applications: LINE, Mejika app, Hazardon app, Kochi Prefecture disaster information app, and more.

2. Community Events: Various events that leverage smartphone use for community engagement are being considered. A successful model from another municipality involved participants taking photos of wild plants using smartphones, showcasing the potential for experiential learning.

3. Smartphone Lending Service: In partnership with FCNT LLC, Agent Co. will offer a program to loan smartphones to residents without devices, further enhancing accessibility and inclusion.

A Vision for Empowerment

Agent Co. believes that by establishing the "Smartphone Consultation" service, they foster not just digital skills but also a sense of community engagement by ensuring every individual feels empowered to tackle their digital dilemmas.
