CDawgVA's Charity Event 'CYCLETHON 5' Completes Successfully, Raising $2.3 Million for Rare Disease Support

Overview of CYCLETHON 5

The highly anticipated charity initiative, CYCLETHON 5, hosted by renowned overseas anime YouTuber CDawgVA, successfully concluded, raising an impressive ¥230 million (approximately $2.3 million) for the Immune Deficiency Foundation. This year, Palworld, the open-world survival craft game developed by Pocket Pair, served as the event's key sponsor, aligning its efforts with CDawgVA's philanthropic vision.

CYCLETHON 5 marked a significant milestone as it was the first time the event started from Ōma, Aomori, the northernmost point of Honshu in Japan, and concluded at Osaka, covering an extensive distance of about 1,300 kilometers over 14 days.

Significance of CYCLETHON

The CYCLETHON series was initiated in 2022 by CDawgVA to support individuals suffering from Common Variable Immune Deficiency (CVID), particularly his friend Ironmouse, a popular VTuber from America. Ironmouse's struggle with this rare disease, which severely limits her ability to go outdoors, resonated with many viewers around the world, inspiring them to contribute to the cause. Each year since its inception, the event has recorded increasing financial support, with growing viewer engagement—culminating in an impressive ¥150 million in donations for the 2025 event alone.

Highlights of CYCLETHON 5

In this edition, various beloved personalities participated, including Ironmouse and YouTuber Chris Broad, who joined CDawgVA throughout the journey, sharing experiences live on platforms like Twitch and YouTube. Their participation not only fueled audience engagement but also spotlighted the collaborative nature of the event, uniting fans from different backgrounds for a single cause.

The event has garnered various accolades, highlighted by winning the Best Philanthropic Stream Event at The Streamer Awards in 2023. Through innovative streaming and direct engagement, CYCLETHON has created a platform for raising awareness about rare diseases while successfully mobilizing the global community toward impactful actions.

Donation Process

All funds raised during CYCLETHON are channeled through the Tiltify platform directly to the Immune Deficiency Foundation. Since its inception in 2022, the funding has significantly increased year on year. In the inaugural year, approximately ¥45.6 million (around $320,000) was raised, while the second event saw donations climb to ¥79 million (about $555,000) and further to over ¥130 million (approximately $1.02 million) in 2024.

Overview of CDawgVA and Collaborators

CDawgVA has become a household name in the streaming community. With over 3.2 million subscribers on YouTube and recognition through multiple awards, including 'Best Stream Duo' at The Streamer Awards 2025, his impact transcends mere entertainment, focusing significantly on charitable works.

In contrast, Ironmouse, who boasts over 2.4 million followers on Twitch, leverages her platform for advocacy, sharing her journey with CVID and driving fundraising for the cause.

Moreover, Chris Broad, famed for his YouTube channel Abroad in Japan, brings a unique perspective, sharing culture and tourism insights that enrich the event's narrative.
