Atlantic Natural Foods Terminates Agreement with Above Foods

Atlantic Natural Foods, LLC (ANF), renowned for producing the award-winning brands Loma Linda®, neat™, and TUNO™, has announced its decision to withdraw from the agreement with Above Foods, effective November 1, 2024. This strategic move comes after a thorough evaluation of their operational environment, primarily influenced by the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, supply chain issues, and the ongoing global rise in food prices.

For the past three years, ANF has endeavored to establish a public presence in partnership with Above Foods. However, both parties have now mutually decided to part ways regarding this initiative. "Operating in the industry's ever-changing landscape has not been without its challenges, but we remain steadfast in our commitment to resetting the standards for the years ahead," explained Doug Hines, Chairman of ANF.

The company underscores its dedication to advance its core mission of providing sustainable, high-quality plant-based food solutions, drawing upon over 150 years of expertise in the consumer food industry. In light of the decision, ANF will take back direct oversight of its operations, allowing it to navigate the new challenges it faces while reinforcing its commitment to innovation and quality.

Despite this withdrawal from a public strategy with Above Foods, the two companies will maintain collaborative ties, with ANF holding shares in Above Foods and vice versa. The decision to exit the public agreement enables ANF to realign itself with its foundational principles, further emphasizing its goal to offer healthy food options to the global community in 2025 and beyond.

ANF operates its own manufacturing facility and is also engaged in a joint venture in Thailand, distributing its products to over 30 countries worldwide, including the U.K., EU, Korea, South Africa, and Australia.
