MISUMI presents the 44th ROBO-ONE Competition

Overview
The 44th iteration of the highly anticipated ROBO-ONE competition will take place on September 20-21, 2025, sponsored by MISUMI Group, located in Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo. This biennial event, organized by the Japan Biped Robot Association since its inception in 2002, has grown significantly, capturing the attention of engineers and technology enthusiasts around the world. The competition not only spotlights engineering prowess but also aims to ignite interest in manufacturing across generations, supporting the next wave of aspiring engineers.

Event Details
The ROBO-ONE event features ongoing robotic battles where competitors test their creations in formidable showdowns. Participants from 11 different countries have entered the fray, making this a prestigious international gathering. On both days, the battles will be live-streamed via Twitch, allowing audiences at home or abroad to witness the thrill of the competition in real-time.

Competition Structure
The preliminary rounds will consist of 2-minute matches with a '3-down' rule to determine the top 32 competitors who will advance to the finals. The finals will follow a tournament format with 3-minute rounds; a robot wins if it downs its opponent three times first. Contestants' strategies and quick thinking will add excitement to the gameplay.

Competitions are scheduled as follows:

• - Saturday, September 20:

- Matches from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM
- ROBO-ONE Beginners event from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM
- Awards ceremony at 4:00 PM

• - Sunday, September 21:

- Matches from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM
- Finals from 3:30 PM followed by an awards ceremony

Newcomer Events
In parallel to the main event, ROBO-ONE will feature a newcomers' event aimed at those unfamiliar with robot construction or competition. This segment will provide the foundational knowledge of robotic joints and offer a hands-on experience for fledglings interested in robotics, including a capsule toy giveaway for kids participating in robot operation simulations.

Venue and Participation
This spectacular event will take place at the Kanagawa Prefectural Youth Center. A total of 109 robots are expected to take part, with 73 domestically and 36 internationally. Competitive spirit will also be incentivized through prize money, including a grand prize of 300,000 yen, with additional awards for subsequent placements. Additionally, the MISUMI award includes a 100,000 yen prize along with 50,000 yen worth of MISUMI products, potentially using visuals of the winning bots for promotional purposes.
